Stage of world historyThe world came to the Emporer, industrious and fastidiously dresses they came: great thinkers, generals, artists, musicians, doctors and politicians, royality and their entourage. They populated the town in summer, and along with their vanities, they brought art and culture to the Salzkammergut. Some of the more faithful returnees became more than just summer tourist: many built houses and villas.
Here they created unforgettable works of music, Biedermeier painting and literature...even scientific inspiration was born in Bad Ischl, the traces of wich can still be felt today. Up to this daya lot has remained from the things that constituted to the reputation of an Emperor's city. Memories of a time when history was written in Bad Ischl accompany the visitor at every turn.
And yet there is never the impression that time has come to a standstill here. The city is open-minded. Bad Ischl welcomes its guestsand is proud of the fact that they come here from all over the world and are delighted - just as they were more than one hundred years ago! |
